Last year, Vance made an impression in Munich with a harsh speech criticizing Europe, reminds Bild.
He accused European governments of censorship on social media and persecuting dissent, stating that authorities use ‘disgusting words from the Soviet past, such as ‘disinformation’,’ to silence critics.
Then Vance made it clear that without changes in the attitude towards freedom of speech, relations with the US would deteriorate.
“If you fear your own voters, America will not be able to do anything for you. And, moreover, you will not be able to do anything for the American people who elected me and President Trump,” he then stated.
