Josh Shapiro, the Governor of Pennsylvania, has always been critical of United States Vice President Donald Trump. He is again taking the opportunity to criticise him publicly over his insensitive remarks about the victim of the recent ICE shooting, Renee Nicole Good.

In a video shared by Meidas Touch on January 10, 2026, on YouTube, which has generated significant traction on social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), Governor Josh Shapiro can be seen calling Vice President JD Vance out for his blatant support of Donald Trump, which he believes has made him a “weak” human being. In the context of Minnesota, Shapiro highlighted that he believed that Vance is taking a “wrong” approach to keeping the people of the state safe. His exact words in this context were:

“…JD Vance has absolutely no core. That guy is profoundly and pathetically a weak human being, and he does whatever he thinks his boss wants him to do. Whatever he thinks will curry him favour that day, with Donald Trump. And, he’s also just absolutely wrong on how he is approaching this situation of keeping people safe in Minnesota.”

Shapiro continued speaking by highlighting the recent murder of Renee Good at the hands of an ICE agent, which left her kids without a parent and her partner without a spouse and noted Vance’s faulty politics in this context, saying that he is practising “idiotic gaslighting.” Instead, Shapiro highlighted that he would like to see Vance put effort into investigating Renee Good’s case despite his show of reluctance to do the same in the last couple of days. Shapiro also took a dig at the United States Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, and essentially called her unfit for her job. Shapiro spoke about Vance again while reiterating his desire for a thorough investigation be conducted in the ICE shooting incident, saying:

“What we need right now is to end the gaslighting, end the lunacy of JD Vance’s ridiculous statements and instead have an investigation where you are able to get all of the evidence put forth which is going to require the federal government to be participants in that process and then bring about the truth to the community.”

Shapiro also added that JD Vance worked on behalf of Donald Trump and “blocked” the truth from coming out concerning the Minnesota incident, and in turn, made the community “less safe” instead of fostering an environment of safety.
