The Director of the Military Intelligence Department of Libya’s Government of National Unity, Major General Mahmoud Hamza, paid an official visit to Valletta on Thursday to discuss strengthening joint security cooperation with Malta’s military and security leadership.
According to the government platform Hakomitna on its Facebook page, Hamza’s visit to Valletta came at an official invitation from the Maltese state, during which he met with the Minister of Defence, Home Affairs and Security, the Commander of the Armed Forces of Malta, and the Head of the Maltese Security Service.
The platform explained that Hamza’s meetings with Maltese officials and military and security leaders focused on ways to enhance joint security cooperation, particularly in the fields of training and the exchange of expertise. The visit also included field tours of the Special Forces headquarters, training centers, naval forces, and the air wing, as part of efforts to develop security coordination between the two sides.
