ENDWELL, N.Y. (WBNG) — Taylor’s Pizza House is heading back to Italy this weekend for the S.I.G.E.P. World 2026 Pizza Competition held at Rimini, Italy. Owner George Taylor is excited for the opportunity to improve on his performance from last year.
As part of Team USA, George will be representing the United States with several other Americans from around the country to showcase what the U.S. offers to the pizza-making scene worldwide. This year, he’s not representing the 607 alone. Co-owner Patti Taylor has been trying out a new recipe that the team is excited about.
“She’s going to use roasted garlic, fontina mozzarella, and gorgonzola. And then she’s going to dabble our sauce on the top, bake it, and then when it comes out, she’s putting shaved Parmesan, a little bit of hot honey, some fresh basil,” George Taylor said.
They will also be competing in the pan category, with their take on a Roman-style pizza. Going and competing at competitions like these isn’t just to show off the pizza Taylor’s Pizza House can produce, but to also help enhance and elevate their pizza with the ever-evolving pizza scene. Staying updated with the latest trends and new techniques is half the battle.
The main goal of constantly elevating and trying to evolve their pizza is to ultimately shine a light on the rich pizza community in the 607 area.
