Finnish marine technology company Wärtsilä has signed a 10-year lifecycle service agreement for 12 LNG carriers managed by Singapore-based MOL Global Ship Management, a unit linked to Japan’s Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL).

The contract covers long-term maintenance and operational support for the ships’ Wärtsilä equipment. Wärtsilä said the aim is to reduce engine downtime and give the operator more flexible maintenance planning.

Wärtsilä supplies marine engines and ship machinery, and provides servicing and digital maintenance tools for vessels. In this deal, Wärtsilä said it will use its dynamic maintenance planning and predictive maintenance solutions.

The 12 LNG carriers were delivered in 2024 and 2025. Each ship operates with Wärtsilä 34DF dual-fuel engines and Wärtsilä gas valve units.
