What are the best deals at the moment in each of these areas? I’m on my 12th month with each of my current plans and about to lose all of the ‘new customer’ savings. I’m based in Dublin city centre.

Money is tight and I’m shopping around to try save a little.

**Currently**

\-Virgin Broadband 250mb – 40 per month for 12, then 60

\-Virgin Mobile Unlimited – 10 per month for 12, then 25

\-Energia Electricity (offer through [switcher.ie](https://switcher.ie)) – charging

Potential caveat with an electricity switch being the 200 euro government credit which hasn’t been used yet.

Any recommendations?

  1. That 200 credit should be on this months bill, mine came in.

I was looking at swapping to energia (with Iberdrola atm) as they look like the best offer but quite close to flogas ( rates are higher but they give 200 cashback )

Mobile I’m with gomo since they started and I’ve never had any issues with them.

Have you checked Eir/Vodafone broadband packages? They come in around the same price as virgin with the “new customer 12 month offers “

  2. If you give energia a call they will sign you up again as a new customer, just tell them which plan you want to go with.

My 12 mth expired in October last year I totally forgot about it and nearly had a heart attack when I got the bill I spoke with one of their customer service representative she even back dated the bill and applied the new rates, the bill went from 550 to 245.

  3. €25 a month with pure telecom for broadband, you get landline as well, but you don’t have to use it if you don’t need it.

There customer service is quick also

Do the work and find who will offer better rates for Electricity for you, those sites make it very easy. There’s way too much work here to expect poor saps on the Internet to do it for ya.

Broadband, same thing. You could cancel and re sign up to keep Intro price (especially if there’s someone else in the house) or contact them to get a discounted rate if only VM offer decent speeds.

And there’s absolutely no point getting recommendations if speed is a concern. Just put the work in to figure out who offers decent speed for you.

Just go to eir, sky or Vodafone’s site (there’s also Imagine, Pure and others, use the sites above to see) and put in your eircode. Hell the sites above offer a decent estimation, then ring the sales team for whoever has the best price.

Mobile, same thing again. It will be one of 48, GoMo or Three probably.
