In an era where geopolitical shocks are constant, Italy sees India not just as a partner, but as a stabilising force for Europe. Ambassador Antonio Bartoli says Europe’s future growth depends on reliable partnerships, and India stands out with its scale, stability and civilisational depth. He highlights the India–Italy strategic action plan running till 2029, which aims to raise bilateral trade to 20 billion euros while expanding cooperation in defence, space, technology, clean energy and innovation. The India–EU FTA, according to Bartoli, could further anchor Europe’s economy at a time when trade wars and protectionism are rising. Italy’s industrial strength and India’s manufacturing push, he says, are complementary forces that can reshape global supply chains and offer Europe a predictable economic partner in an unpredictable world.
