Cheyenne, Wyo. – Bringing generations of flavors and a taste of Italy to Cheyenne is Nonna’s Primo Pasta sauce.
As a first-generation Italian born stateside, Cheyenne local owner and founder of Nonna’s primo pasta sauce, Pattie Lindell is sharing her sauce made by the same recipe she learned from her great grandma at just 12 years old. Founder Pattie Lindell says, “My great grandma wanted to meet me, she came and taught me how to make sauce when I was 12.”
Having suffered a brain tumor eight years ago and losing sight in her left eye, led to a physical therapy exercise of canning pasta sauce. This then led to the birth of local business, Nonna’s Primo Pasta Sauce
Pattie tells Wyoming News Now where the business name originated from, she says, “Nonna means grandma in Italian. And since I’m a third generation, and a grandma here, I decided to adopt that name for my business… Because it’s from my great grandma to my grandma, to me.”
Pattie says she maintains the integrity of her grandmother’s sauce by only using natural ingredients, disregarding preservatives and making everything from scratch.
Pattie says, “Put an Italian in the kitchen… And what do we do, we create, and we cook. Because feeding people is our love language.”
From the Roma tomatoes, cooked into puree and canned to sauce… It is like Pattie’s family from Napoli is sharing an Italian cooked meal with Cheyenne.
Pattie says, “Nourishes the soul, it gives you something to hold on to… I call it a warm hug.”
