Stevens Point launches new mobile dining pass to promote local businesses

  • 2026-01-18

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAW) – A new mobile dining pass launching in the Stevens Point area aims to help local restaurants during the slow winter months.

The Local Bite Pass offers exclusive discounts at participating restaurants through March 31. Users can sign up through the Stevens Point Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) website to receive deals and discounts at the six participating locations.

The mobile pass does not require users to download an app. Participants can enter their phone number or email on the website to receive the discounts.

“The pass is running through the end of March, so it’s about two and a half months and we really just want to get locals, visitors, community members into these restaurants to offer deals and discounts to show the restaurants a lot of love during the winter months,” said Taylor Urquhart, Director of Partnerships for the Stevens Point Area CVB.

Participants who visit all six restaurants before the program ends will be entered into a grand prize raffle featuring merchandise and gift cards from the participating locations.

The six restaurants currently participating in the pass are: Graffiti’s Sports Pub, Knowlton House Distillery, O’so Brewing Company, Bill’s Pizza Shop, The Wooden Chair, and Amber Grill.

Organizers are hoping to expand the program by adding more restaurants.

The initiative targets the cold season when business typically slows down.

“We like the idea of doing it in the winter months just because it is a slower time for the restaurants, so we encourage people to get in the restaurants,” Urquhart said.

Organizers hope to bring the program back next year if they receive positive feedback from the community.
