Colin Jost delivered a biting parody of Pete Hegseth during Saturday Night Live’s latest episode, featuring an outrageous workout-themed sketch. The Weekend Update co-anchor returned as the Secretary of War in the January 17 cold open, mimicking Hegseth’s machismo and fitness obsession in a mock White House press briefing. The scene included impersonations of Donald Trump, Marco Rubio, JD Vance, and Kristi Noem.
James Austin Johnson’s Trump introduced the character, saying: “Let’s go ahead and bring out our Secretary of War, give it up for Pete Hegseth, everybody.”
Jost made his entrance to rock music, clutching a container of protein powder, before yelling: “Cut it, I said cut it!”.

“What’s up, you chodes?” he began, taking a gulp from his protein container and grunting: “Fresh pow pow”, reports the Irish Star.
The comedian then channeled Hegseth’s aggressive demeanor, declaring: “Now listen up, in case your ears are too fat to hear the news, we went into Venezuela, and ¿Comó se dice ‘we teabagged their country?’ They’re lucky I manscape.”
The crowd roared with laughter as Jost transitioned from discussing Venezuela to addressing Iran.
“We’re going to sack tap Iran. I’m going to put the Ayatollah in the cuck chair. I’m going to tell him, ‘If I aya-toll you once, I aya-toll you a thousand times,” Jost quipped. “You don’t dare kill your protestors, that’s our thing.”
Jost continued his comedic bit, stating, “Just remember, you F with America, we’re going to F you right back.
“Just like it looks like I’m F-ing this kettlebell,” as he humorously mimicked a viral video of Hegseth’s unusual weightlifting technique.
“You might have seen it in a video,” Jost’s Hegseth character said. “It got passed around online, in a positive way.
“Yeah, I’m going to F you like I’ve never done it before, and I’m going to finish way too fast.”
SNL viewers reacted to the sketch on social media, with one person writing: “Best career appearance of Colin Jost.”
Another fan shared: “Colin Jost saying YOINK! has been playing on a loop in my brain since 11:35,” while another commented: “Colin Jost is so f—ing funny I can’t. I need him in all the skits.”
