A Dal 2026 (The Song) is set to commence on February 14, as MTVA reveals more details of the upcoming series.
The fourteenth series of A Dal will commence on February 14th, with thirty acts competing. As the latest series draws ever closer, MTVA has started to reveal the first details of the competition. György Ferenczi will be one of the jurors for this series, returning to the jury seat for a sixth series. He is best known as a singer and musician known for rock and blues music, and is a recipient of a number of Hungarian music industry awards.
A Dal 2026 will be broadcast between February and March, the winner will receive the ability to record an album and music video to the value of 10 million forints.
In the Heats, four jurors will evaluate each of the songs after they have performed, all thirty performers will progress to the Semi-Finals. In the Semi-Final, the jury and public can award between 1 and 10 points to each act. The top two with the jury and public will automatically qualify, a thjrd finalist will be the act that receives the most votes from the remaining eight acts that did not qualify.
A Dal was previously developed as the Hungarian national selection show for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2012. Since Hungary’s withdrawal from the Eurovision Song Contest it has been a standalone competition.
