This is the dramatic moment a cliff collapsed on the Jurassic Coast, while two holidaymakers ‘disappeared’ under a huge cloud of dust.

Around 500 tonnes of sandstone fell onto the beach in West Bay, Dorset, UK, when a section of the 150-metre-high cliff, made famous by the ITV crime drama Broadchurch, suddenly collapsed.

Footage from the scene showed the dramatic moment when a section of the cliff collapsed just a few meters away from beachgoers, the Telegraph reports.

The falling debris caused a thick cloud of golden dust as it hit the sand – but passersby seemed unfazed by the collapse.

The coastguard was called to the scene to check if anyone was trapped under the rocks, but fortunately no casualties were reported. /Telegraph/
