I mean countries like Gibraltar are tough to beat, don’t be so harsh.
brāļa (bruh) laika daļa, mēs iztērējam pārāk daudz naudu
The money spent is primarily given by UEFA/FIFA. Also passing world cup qualification is ridiculously hard, many good teams don’t get there. Euro on the other hand is where we could feasibly be
Ive been to almost all our games in last 4 years and let me tell you, our Football team equals to our Dinamo hockey team, there is nothing but the brand, performance wise we are just so baaad that I have no words to express it.
Pag, cilvēki šeit domā, ka 14 miljoni gadā ir daudz?
Mums ir futbola komanda?
I am Italian: I bet we spend a lot more than that and we also did not qualify…
Can’t believe people with no experience working/analyzing government level budgets still get pissed when they see a million in circulation.
Oh no cringe. 😂😂
Don’t worry, in Lithuania is same situation with football. 😀 Maybe even worst…
14m is not a huge money in terms of football plus as you see this money really split around different branches. Majority of european countries spend much more, and have way more growing talents just physically while still not being able to qualify.
I always cheer on and support Latvia when they play. I really want them to qualify for the Euros, it would be amazing if they made it to the world cup!
I will be sending my son to play for Latvia in a few years. He currently plays academy in the England, hopefully he will help the team out.
Just my 2 cents on the Latvia football problem.
One of the big problems I think is the junior program and lack of facilities. My son started young at Alberts and left after only a few years – the combination of coaches that seem to be stuck in some soviet, win at all costs mindset and scream at 8-9 year olds, as well as the lack of not only grounds to play on but also competitions to play in is what causes the majority of kids to leave.
The coaching problem Ive seen in every other sport here – tennis, basketball – they dont seem to understand kids play sport for fun, the abuse Ive heard is so bad my kids have left sports because of it.
The facilities are severely lacking, I understand its expensive to build, but also needs to be addressed if you want to build a good junior program.
And the lack of regular competitions is crazy. Over the 3 years my son played he probably would have participated in maybe 10-15 actual games. Theres no such concept for juniors as a local Saturday league ( not in Basketball as well which I find crazy). The games seem to only come in tournaments, where of course long travel is involved when you are scheduled to play against Liepaja!). There are enough junior teams in Riga to put together a Saturday league, its quite common in other countries that have good football programs. Kids cant improve just by going to training all the time.
Rant over…
** Also if anyone knows of an outdoor football field that is able to be rented regularly in Summer (Riga) let me know. Every year it gets harder to find one thats available and is reasonable quality.
football is heavily tied to corruption and oligarchs here as a way to launder money
Interesanti, kur 350k aiziet mārketingam un komunikācijai 🙂
Ko komunicē un kādās platformās, risinājumos.
There are 150 other countries that don’t make it to the big tournaments, and people there are probably wondering about the same thing.
Vienīgā bedre, kas ir dziļāka nekā tās, kas ir uz ielām, ir Latvijas “futbols”. Nav jēgas tur mest naudu un valsts, par laimi, to arī nedara
1 million for the club, the rest on a Swiss bank account.
