Russian air defense forces intercepted dozens of Ukrainian drones across multiple regions overnight, with Bryansk, Crimea and Rostov among the main targets.

Russian air defense units repelled another wave of Ukrainian drone attacks overnight on January 20. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, between 11:00 p.m. Moscow time on January 19 and 7:00 a.m. on January 20, air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 32 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles.

The highest concentration of drones was recorded over the Bryansk Region and the Republic of Crimea, where nine UAVs were neutralized in each area. Three drones were shot down over the Voronezh Region. Air defenses also destroyed two UAVs each over the Belgorod, Kursk, Volgograd, Astrakhan, and Samara regions. One drone was intercepted over the Smolensk Region.

The attacks had begun earlier in the day. The Defense Ministry reported that between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Moscow time, on-duty air defense crews destroyed 47 Ukrainian drones. The main strike during this period targeted the Rostov Region, where 21 UAVs were intercepted. Another 19 drones were downed over the Bryansk Region, while five were destroyed over the Kaluga Region. Single UAVs were intercepted over the Belgorod and Kursk regions.

In addition, between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Moscow time, air defense units eliminated four more fixed-wing drones. Three of them were shot down over the Belgorod Region, and one over the Bryansk Region.
