  1. I don’t get it. I guess Hermes doesn’t do pickups where they pay for your stuff. What’s the scam here? Does the Hermes dude show up at your door without payment and they hope you give them your stuff and “fix payment with the buyer later”? Do they just want to know where you live so they can come rob you?

  2. Ik snap de scam niet… Mijn schoonzus had dit ook eens voor, we vonden het allemaal verdacht maar konden niet uitleggen waarom. Komen ze gewoon naar uw deur om dat voorwerp in kwestie te stelen of…?

  3. I have actually found that leaving out some information, makes it easier to filter out the fake responses.

I was selling a desk, but left out the measurements. When someone genuine was interested, their first question would always be “How big is it?”. Thats how I knew I was talking to an actual person.

Either way, I sell on 2dehands exclusively now because of this crap. It ain’t perfect, but this shit is annoying AF.

  4. I sold my old phone over marketplace. It was listed for 3 weeks.

    – 3 buyers didn’t show up/dissapeared from planet earth
    – 24 blatant scam attempts like this one
    – 1 scammer looked real until question 12 when he suddenly wanted to do this again
    – Eventually sold it to the 4th interested person, and I sold it about €30-50 below value just cause I was sick of all the crap

  5. Another thing besides the scams that frustrate me on FB marketplace are the basics questions everybody always asks. For example the ‘is it still available’ and ‘are you able to send me more photos’ and when you reply to those questions, they ghost you.

In general I’m not really a fan of FB marketplace. Although you reach a high viewer rate than on 2dehands, it’s a lot less actual interested people there.

Not a constructive response on your post but just my opinion related to this subject.

  6. They always start with “is dit nog beschikbaar”

I got like 3 of them, its annoying

Trying to sell on fb is just impossible
