The Beyond Borders circuit, organized by GURSK in South Africa in January, brought together over 150 dental professionals from Romania and the Republic of Moldova in an international format that combined clinical education, professional dialogue and direct access to the local implantology ecosystem.

The initiative was designed as a hands-on educational experience, offering participants more than traditional congress attendance. It provided clinical context, direct interaction with international experts, and relevant perspectives for daily practice. The program connected scientific content with professional community development and direct exposure to international implantology infrastructure, fostering knowledge exchange and the consolidation of clinical skills.

ImplantoDays Beyond the Borders

The central component of the circuit was the ImplantoDays Beyond the Borders: Africa Edition Congress, held in Cape Town in a setting dedicated to professional dialogue and the exchange of clinical experience. The scientific program featured presentations by Prof. Dr. Howard Gluckman, Dr. Ebrahim Fakir and Dr. Warren Farao, who addressed surgical and prosthetic perspectives relevant to contemporary implantology practice, with a focus on applicable protocols, clinical predictability and the integration of modern technologies into daily dental practice.

Access to the implantology ecosystem

Another defining element of the circuit was the visit to the Southern Implants manufacturing facility in Irene, where participants gained direct insight into the research, design, and manufacturing processes behind implant solutions. Interaction with company specialists and observation of production workflows complemented the educational component, offering a clear perspective on the quality standards and research philosophy underlying implant solutions used globally.

Through this initiative, GURSK strengthened its role as a facilitator of access to continuing medical education and international professional experiences, supporting the development of a clinical community connected to global standards.

For participants, the circuit represented an opportunity for contextualized professional development, direct dialogue with international experts, and alignment with global trends in implantology.
