Erwin Derlagen is Senior Technical Director at InterMaritime Shipmanagement, with more than 40 years of experience in maritime operations and technical leadership. He began his career as a Marine Engineer, advancing to Chief Engineer and later senior leadership positions, overseeing diverse international fleets and complex operations with a focus on safety, reliability, and operational excellence.
He has held executive technical leadership roles responsible for fleet performance, technical governance, and strategic development. Derlagen has been deeply involved in industry representation and policy, serving more than a decade as Chair of the Marine, Technical, and Environmental Advisory Committees of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber, as a board member of the Chamber, and as an active member of BIMCO’s Marine Environment Committee, several ICS committees, and European Community Shipowners’ Associations (ECSA) task forces, contributing to technical, safety, and environmental standards across the shipping industry.
He holds an Executive ‘Blue’ MBA in Shipping and Logistics from Copenhagen Business School.
