Turkey: NATO’s problem child

  1. Turkey will implode eventually but at least we’ll make the West mad in the process 🦃

If Erdocunt alienates the West enough then they won’t support Islamist elements in the country again, so it’s a win for us. Also the salt is a bonus. Let’s see EU whining about the political ban of Islamists 50 years later again.

  2. I’m sorry but Turkey is the only NATO country that actively sought to destroy Russian influence before the recent war. You don’t get to lecture us, when you pulled out air defences in Turkey 1 week after we shot down a Russian jet in 2015. Why should we trust NATO ? When most of our allies support our enemies. Let’s not forget most of European countries continued selling weapons and advanced systems to Russia, France even supported Russia in Libya to put a warlord dictator in charge of the country.

Tell me, after all this bullshit, why shouldn’t we approach with caution when choosing new allies? Greeks literally vetoed Macedonia for years because of their name but god forbid we look out for our national interests and ask new allies to stop supporting our enemies.

  3. I feel like I am taking crazy pills when I see Americans putting the Muslim Brotherhood in the same basket as ISIS. They were their most ardent supporters a decade ago. They strong-armed whole Europe to support Muslim Brotherhood organizations and parties during the Arab Spring. Even their current president was the vice president then!

  4. Only country to nuke urban locations and causing most civilian deaths in middle east calls us the problem “child”. Nothing less than ironic.

  5. “Charges that Turkey has become “a permissive jurisdiction for illicit and terror finance” cannot be ignored, especially with Turkey’s second-largest state-owned bank, Halkbank, accused by the U.S. Department of Justice of laundering more than $20 billion for Tehran between 2012-2015”

Illicit because the US department of Justice decided to sanction Iran?

This article is full of illogical and unrelated matters. Ffs it starts off by mentioned how far Turkey is located from the North Atlantic. Who was this article written for?

  6. Child? Turkey along with Greece is the second oldest batch military partner of Nato apart from the first 6 that were founding members. Also no agenda pushing.
