Erain Boxtha is an organizer with Tampa Immigration Rights Committee.

“We are calling for the protection of immigrant rights, but along with immigrant rights, women’s rights, LGBTQ rights, and everybody’s rights who have been harmed by the Trump administration,” Boxtha said.

He said they want to show Trump that people wont back down and that they will keep fighting him on his policies.

Boxtha and a majority of demonstrators were protesting ICE and calling for an end to deportations.

Demonstrator Dave Shuey says he is fearful for the future.

“I have never envisioned in my 65 years that we allow these people (ICE) to terrorize our communities,” he said.

Shuey said ICE needs to go and democracy must prevail.

“People don’t want more taxes, people dont want to lose there healthcare. He is creating terror and cruelty in the united states and i never seen a president act like that,” Shuey said.

He said he is worried about loosing democracy and other demonstrators said they are too.

Nancy Hickey Hughes is a Tampa resident who was wearing an anti-Trump shirt calling him a dictator.

“He’s a fascist is what he is. And he’s turning our country into a fascist county. Like he wants to invade Greenland and today I think he even said taking over Canada again, you know, the guy is really mentally ill,” Hughes said. “If I could say one thing to him, it wouldn’t matter because he doesn’t care what the average person thinks.”

Multiple demonstrators say they are afraid of losing democracy and called Trump a narcissist.

During the demonstration, participants were chanting and listening to speakers as cars honked in support.
