“Currently, the government is working on modernizing the system of childcare benefits in order to reduce the risks of deterioration in the financial situation of women that they had before the child’s birth, and to ensure a decent level of material well-being for our mothers,” said Natalia Pyatkevich.

Speaking about the demographic situation, Natalia Pyatkevich noted that it is characterized by a whole range of demographic risks, both objective and subjective in nature.

As in most countries of the world, Belarus observes population aging, a decrease in the intensity of first and second child births, and a change in the age model of fertility. They are already talking about so-called delayed motherhood.

According to her, a surge in birth rate can be expected approximately by 2030, when the next generation of the baby boom becomes parents.
