The crazy thing is. It just needs one person to suddenly stand up and shoot around him, then all these things will completely changed. I live in Switzerland and was a pretty good shooter during my youth but it is still surprising that nothing like that has ever happened.
So the last couple of days I’ve been reading about the “Waffengesetz” and how it all works in Switzerland. I never really found any information on what happens after you give them the “Waffenerwerbsgesuch”.
Lets say your reason to buy one is for sports, do you need any confirmation of being in a “Schiessverein” or something? It only says you need to state the reason, but I almost can’t believe that’s all you need to do.. Does anyone know more about the procedure?
It’s about education and mentality. But Switzerland is neutral, meaning if they wanted to enter EU they would have to change this non sense. Do like Czech Republic does, instead of guns they have sex…
But it could be worst…Meaning Texas!!
at 14 yo i was going to the shooting range with my brother’s assault rifle on my moped.
only in switzerland lol.
Uhm. At ~3:30, are there cows on the field next to the targets???
I don’t like these kind of videos. I know it’s from a talk show. It’s not supposed to be serious, it’s supposed to entertain people but they’re making jokes out of a serious subject.
The video is only 5 minutes long and really fast paced. So there’s no time to develop the subject, they stay on the surface. And they keep throwing these jokes to keep the audience entertained.
The video is short, really fast paced, it stays on the surface and the “reporter” keeps goofing around. It really feels like they take their audience for idiots.
It is a good idea to compare gun laws and “gun culture” around the world with the USA’s. It is a serious subject and it could be good for americans to see how they do elsewhere. But this video is not the right way to do it.
Fuck. Hide the cheese!!1
At least they didn’t say Sweden…
In Switzerland your gun is not a surrogate for your schlong. The only two reasons why it is used is either sports or hunting (well, some would say it’s a sport too) and not “personal defense” or bullshit like that. Also, there are safety rules that are generally well followed.
We just have a sane relationship with guns. That’s why it’s not a warzone here.
Sadly in the US there IS a part of our gun owning citizenry that believes as the Swiss do. We train, we respect the tools, and we aren’t a part either the redneck or thug culture that hollywood exploits and glamourizes that creates this wonderful national image we have around firearms. The shitty part is that we are the kind of individuals that will get steamrolled by whatever ‘policy’ is made by the far left and mouthbreathers that decide our laws.
Perhaps if we broke this nation up into regions no bigger than Switzerland, we could get a handle on exactly how many crazies we have and manage gun control . . . . because what they do certainly doesn’t seem to scale to a nation of 330 million people.
