IDA chief Michael Lohan said the EU’s anti-coercion instrument (ACI) – a potential counter to a US trade threat to levy new tariffs on Denmark and six other EU members over their stance on Greenland – would likely be “damaging” to Irish, European and American economies.

Mr Lohan is currently attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. He told the Irish Independent the situation is “very current”, with policymakers and businesses working hard to adapt.
