Hillsborough County residents can get free groceries during the Saturday, Jan. 24 event in Tampa.
TAMPA, Fla. — With no income restrictions for those living in Hillsborough County, residents will be able to get free groceries and access to “a variety” of health services this Saturday at the Lee Davis Community Resource Center in Tampa.
Hillsborough County officials announced that on Jan. 24, as part of the Healthy Living Program, residents will be given free groceries from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at a community health fair, which will take place at 3402 N. 22nd Street, just north of Ybor City’s Historic District.
Food that will be given away includes fresh fruit and vegetables, meats, canned goods as well as beans and rice. The food will be provided in partnership with Feeding Tampa Bay.
The community fair will end at noon. During the event, residents will have access to free health screenings, vaccinations, giveaways and activities for kids.
Residents will also be able to get information about the Healthy Living Program and Hillsborough County’s Health Care Plan.
In addition, officials note that the Healthy Living Program offers an exercise room, educational activities, group exercise sessions, nutritional counseling and health screenings at Healthy Living Centers, which are located throughout the county.
