The Green Bay Packers drafted two players who competed at the East-West Shrine Bowl last year. Brian Gutekunst took Georgia defensive lineman Warren Brinson with the 198th overall pick and Cincinnati offensive lineman John Williams with the 250th overall pick.

With practices for the 2026 East-West Shrine Bowl scheduled to start on Friday, let’s take a look at some of the defensive prospects on the West roster who could be on Green Bay’s radar for the 2026 NFL Draft.

Albert Regis, DT, Texas A&M

At 6-1, 308 pounds, Regis is a compact defensive tackle who owns a strong lower half to put down roots in his gap and clog up running lanes. He’s not just a boulder. He has the quickness to make plays up and down the line of scrimmage. He’s a player who will impress throughout the interview process and could be a target for the Packers in the fourth round as they look to shore up their run defense and get more impactful play from their defensive tackle group.

Tyler Onyedim, DT, Texas A&M

A transfer from Iowa State, Onyedim finished the season with a bang for the Aggies. In the last five games, Onyedim recorded six tackles for loss, two sacks, seven pressures, and 10 run stops. He plays with active hands and has a knack for working off blocks to shut down running lanes.

Ethan Burke, Edge, Texas

A year after taking Barryn Sorrell in the fourth round, the Packers may turn back to the Texas Longhorns talent pool on Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft. At 6-6, 269 pounds and nearly 34-inch arms, Burke looks the part. He’s a well-rounded player, who rushes the passer with energy and sets a firm edge. He finished this past season with seven tackles, three tackles for loss, 26 pressures and 25 run stops.

Kaleb Proctor, DT, SE LA

The Southland Conference Player of the Year is an active interior defender. Proctor finished this past season with 12 tackles for loss, eight sacks, 36 pressures and 21 run stops. As the Packers look for interior help this offseason, Proctor could be a potential Day 3 target. He’s undersized (275 pounds) and is a player who Green Bay could move around the defensive line.

Karson Sharar, LB, Iowa

Sharar is going to make an immediate impact on special teams during his rookie season. The Iowa linebacker logged 571 snaps on special teams and recorded 13 tackles. He’s a highly instinctive linebacker who trusts his eyes and beats linemen to the spot.

Dontay Corleone, DT, Cincinnati

Corleone is naturally stout and plays with good leverage. He holds his ground against power and can root in against double teams to clog up running lanes. Corleone’s calling card at the next level will be his ability to two-gap and shut down running lanes. However, he has some juice as an interior pass rusher. The Cincinnati defensive tackle has the power to drive offensive linemen backwards to destroy the integrity of the pocket.
