They still haven’t sorted out Dublin airport? 🤦‍♂️

  1. I was on a flight that was 2/3rd full. They unloaded the luggage of the passengers that didn’t make it. I expect it was supposed to be full.

  2. Is Dara still doing comedy? I saw him live about 15 years ago and he was brilliant, haven’t heard anything about him for years

  3. Food queues were the worst at 5am on Monday. Security was fine.

I don’t know when the crunch times are anymore.

  4. No, but I hear that Cork, Shannon, Belfast, Derry, Kerry, Waterford and Knock are doing OK r/Dublin

  5. Just went through security is about two minutes. The queue for Burger King is what is killing me. They seem to be producing about two orders a minute and taking about 900 orders a minute.

  6. Went through twice in the last couple of weeks. Massive queues but still only took 30mins to get through security

  7. I flew out Monday morning 2 weeks ago and it took a bout 30 mins to get through check-in then normal time for security so not too bad

  8. Most of the time delays are in T1. If you are in a rush your QR code will let you check in at T2 you can then take the connecting flight corridor to T1 for your flight.

  9. Flew out yesterday from Dublin. Tbh it’s really not bad if you do your check ins online and get yourself together, but that may just have been with Aer Lingus

  10. And what makes matters worse, is people attempting to bring big bottles of alcohol, sunscreen and whatever else that is obviously over a 100ml with them, slowing things down that much more.

  11. I was there on the last bank holiday Friday, could’ve told me there was a festival on the airport and I’d have no reason to doubt it

  12. I flew out yesterday at 3 o’clock and It was about 35 mins through security. Longer waiting for the burger king than anything else. 🤷‍♂️

  13. Last I was flying out of Dublin a few weeks ago they opened check-in/bag drop 2h15min before departure. I was number 3 in line, and it took the lady at the desk over half an hour to get to me. Despite having checked in online and just having to drop a bag it took her 10 minutes to get me my ticket. Security took an hour to get trough.

I had just below 15 minutes between getting through security and boarding, and there was nothing I could have done differently to make it faster.

I don’t know how anyone who was 5th, 6th or 10th in line at the check in desk could possibly make it.

    Fucking third world airport.

  14. Currently doing with training with the daa and I can tell you it is an absolute mess. Was sent in for a weeks training in Dublin last weem even though I am registered with Cork Airport.

First day of Orientation I was told to go to the old RyanAjr building for half 8 am. Waited until 9 and then was told that I had to go to the Radisson Blu hotel for orientation instead.

For the whole week until Friday I was not given a staff number or email. I enquired about it only to be told that I wasn’t even meant to be here. I was not rostered on the training until I showed them my email. Was put on it then.

Did the week Monday to Friday then told Friday evening after coming back to Cork that I have to go up again for another week’s training. Even now today I have no ID for authorisation or proper uniform. Not sure what next week will be like. Just one fuck up after another.

  15. I was considering a few days holiday in England, Ryanair to Manchester and back in early June, but seeing both airports are a disaster was discouraging, then I checked hotel prices … ouch. Maybe a few days in north Wales by ferry?

  16. Went through at 0730 last Tuesday, through T2 security in no more than 10 minutes. Security staff were far from pleasant though.

  17. Flew Shannon to Boston today, 20mins to get bags checked in, 3 minutes to get through security and 5 minutes through pre clearance.

Smaller airports like Cork and Shannon are the job if you can get the flight you need

  18. Flight was delayed 35 minutes. Missed the last bus to Limerick by 15 minutes. Had to wait around for 6 hours for the next bus. Fuck you Dublin airport

  19. I had a departing flight yesterday (5/22). I heard rumors of staff shortages (calling in sick), so I went almost 4 hours ahead of my flight. It took me nearly 4 hours to get through the various cues, with the security cues being particularly long and confusing. Luckily (cuz I was in Ireland) the airline pushed back the departure time by 45 minutes and everyone made it on board. But, I can say, it was the worst airport cueing I have ever seen — and I’ve been to 37 countries in the past 30 years.
