Im on £28k and even im worried. People on minimum wage are fucked.
… As he plays with himself
E.On will run out of customers then.
Luckily they’re not allowed to turn off electricity for the most vulnerable.
Unfortunately they have meters that do it for them automatically to get around that.
Gonna be a dark winter..
I keep seeing two definitions of fuel poverty. One being 10% of your whole income and one being after your mortgage /rent.
At best I’m right on the edge of fuel poverty and that will be blown away once October comes. I earn more than most of my friends who live locally and a reasonable amount more than minimum wage.
Minimum wage earners are going to be struggling so hard.
Instead of pouring the enormous profits into private accounts, maybe the energy companies could…build assets of public interest? Affordable housing developments, homeless shelters, food banks, public toilets, and more? I don’t trust the Tories to spend the additional/windfall tax rake anyway.
