Authorities responded to a gas leak near businesses on Hancock Bridge Parkway near Orange Grove Boulevard in North Fort Myers on Friday afternoon.According to the North Fort Myers Fire Control District, the gas leak is secured. All businesses in the area were evacuated, but there are no injuries and people are safely entering the businesses again.Tampa Electric Company (TECO) was at the scene in response to the leak.The Lee County Sheriff’s Office also responded for safety reasons, the fire district said. According to TECO, a third-party construction crew hit a natural gas service line near a restaurant and about 10 people were evacuated by the fire district out of precaution.
