While driving along a mountainside road, one man reportedly captured the President of Iceland cruising alongside him in an Audi, showcasing the polarizing difference between the Nordic nation and the United States.

When it comes to security, we’ve watched enough films and news broadcasts to know that the President of the United States is protected by a fleet of massive cars.

But that isn’t quite the same for other places around the world.

Specifically, over in Iceland, one man claims to have spotted Halla Tómasdóttir riding in the back of a one-car convoy, something that would never be seen in the US.

The President of Iceland filmed driving along in an Audi

Nordic countries are considered to have some of the safest roads in the world, adopting measures that people have long been calling for in the United States.

But even with the tricky weather to combat, it looks like the President of Iceland isn’t worried about any roadside accidents.

Instead, one Instagram post claims to show President Halla Tómasdóttir being driven down the road without a single accompanying security detail, sitting comfortably in the back of an Audi.

The video showcases that the alleged Presidential vehicle sports the simple license plate of the Icelandic flag and the number ‘1’, while the red-cross-on-blue flag waves on the hood.

It also claims that the driver sportingly put the rev count up to tease a quick race with the onlooking driver, showing the power of the A8.

Viewers were impressed by the relaxed vibe, praising the confidence in their national security.

“It’s actually a flex if your president can move like this without security,” one comment read.

“In Switzerland, it‘s normal for our Presidents and politicians to take the train to the Parliament,” added another

That’s nothing on the POTUS fleet

Despite the presumably bulletproof and fortified shell of the Audi A8, it’s quite a huge difference from the vehicles used by the US President.

For years, the different leaders of the White House have ridden around the world in the iconic V8 Cadillac limousine known as ‘The Beast’, which features a reported $20,000,000 of fortifications.

Even on the road, you can expect up to 50 support vehicles transporting The Beast and the POTUS to the biggest meetings in the world.

It’s an indication of the two different cultures, although with America being one of the biggest forces on the globe, there’s little wonder why POTUS gets a few extra tidbits when it comes to security.
