European Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism Apostolos Tzitzikostas referred to new European policies on the automotive industry, infrastructure, transport, industry, ports, air transport, shipping and tourism, for which he is responsible, during his speech in a panel on the economy held as part of the World Economic Forum in Davos last week.Â
He said the cornerstone of these policies is environmental protection and sustainability, while strengthening competitiveness in a difficult and volatile international environment marked by constant challenges.Â
Tzitzikostas also announced he will present two new European strategies for shipping and ports in February.
