During last week’s Council meeting, Village of Key Biscayne Mayor Joe Rasco spoke about potential public recreational space on the Key Biscayne Presbyterian Church grounds, where perhaps the area could be the site of a volleyball court, for example, if Village Manager Steve Williamson wanted to explore that option.
While the space might be adaptable, some issues need to be addressed. Among those is the situation with the restroom facility, which would need updating to accommodate the additional use, along with who would bear the responsibility to operate the restroom and maintain and clean the facility.
Councilman Ed London suggested the unused area could become a beachfront park, while Frank Caplan wanted to know if a tract between KB Presbyterian and St. Agnes could be unified to make an even larger recreational space.
