Another Airport post. “4 9hours and counting” 👀 Question: what happens if you miss your flight(s) because of this mess? Are you entitled to a refund?

  1. If the Dublin Airport security queue starts in Uttaranchal, I’d say you probably have more to worry about than missing your flight…

  2. I was there this morning, queue was technically from the Aer Lingus check in area, up the escalator, after a wee gap across the bridge and then started up again from where the hire rentals are.

From start to finish, it took less than an hour, given the shere amount of people, the line moved really quickly and Security staff were top notch.

Just had a look at when the tweet was posted, was there around the same time and the queue did not take four hours to do.

  3. Oh how I love Cork airport so much. 10 minutes through security. I’ll never go through Dublin again, what a load of nonsense that was.

  4. What’s going on over there? I’ve flown through Dublin twice since the whole disaster of security wait times was announced on the news and both times I was waiting less than 20 minutes in total.

Absolute state of DAA though if it’s been this bad for that long.

  5. Was there this morning. Was flying out at 6 in the morning got there at half 2 only caught the flight due to it being delayed due to a problem with the jacks onboard.

It’s a complete shitshow and the poor staff there seemed stressed to the hilt.

  6. Is that really today? Do people really fly to their holidays in leather jackets and big coats on a warm day in Dublin?

  7. Sitting at my gate now. From airport drop off to through security took 35 min in T2 including an (self check) bag drop. Its actually grand.

  8. Pure bullshit. When has a que for anything been at least 10 people wide? let alone somewhere like an airport, where people are already agitated, stressed, on the verge of loosing their holiday. Simply wouldnt happen. What happens when the que narrows into single file, fights galore!!

On another note, what the fuck has happened to air travel recently? Flew on a shorthaul Ryainair flight last night, group of dublin guys hammered and being loud obnoxious arseholes refusing to do anything the airline staff asked. They were drinking from a large bottle of whiskey bought at duty free and when airline staff told them that they werent allowed and tried to take it off them, they guys were initially refusing for about 5-10 mins, creating a scene and making jokes as if they were funny. Then the entire flight you could hear them all throughout the flight despite sitting 6+ rows away and with headphones on.
Why not boot them off? What happened to the “too drunk” policy? Dont get me wrong, I dont mind if you are drunk or drinking on a plane, but if you start being arsholes and annoying the entire 1/2 a plane with your shouting, laughing, and stupid jokes then its a problem.

  9. So I had this issue over Christmas. Was a total shit show and despite being 5 hours early (my girlfriend is a nervous flyer and like to chill before getting on the plane) we missed our flight.

I complained, provided proof and they paid me back for my flight, taxis to and from and probably would have paid for a hotel if we didn’t have a place to stay.

Also Ryanair came through for the win and transferred me to a different flight the next day and waived the charge because why not.

Not saying you’re doing this but they are drastically understaffed so don’t be hurling hate at the folks on the ground.

  10. Ryanair won’t give refunds. My auntie missed her flight and they offered her one on the next flight for 3x the cost of the original. It was cheaper to leave the next day.

  11. So annoying . I got lucky with my queue, I wish Shannon airport flew to Gdańsk but it won’t . I have to drive two hours to Dublin and probably wait a bit more . With Shannon it’s like a 45 minute drive

  12. If this is the security queue, then why are they queuing down the tunnel to the Terminal 1 Car Park? I doubt the queue is snaking from out the front door through the car park and back into the Terminal.

  13. In comparison went through Charles De Gaulle Airport last week. Total time of 10 mins in security and that was including my bag being thoroughly searched and swabbed

  14. I’m new here and I’m really curious. Is it us, ukrainians who caused all this mess or was it like this even before refugee flow to Ireland? Missing your plane due to queue sounds insane
