Denmark’s national team extended its winning streak at the European Championship, beating Spain 36:31 in their second Main Round game and taking a big step toward the semi-finals.

The match started at a high tempo, and Spain managed to keep pace in the opening minutes. However, as the first half progressed, Denmark gradually took control, relying on quick ball movement and a disciplined defence to go into the break two goals up (16:14).

Spain briefly drew level early in the second half at 17:17, but Denmark then shifted into a higher gear. A 5:0 run put the Scandinavians in front 22:17, creating a decisive gap that Spain couldn’t seriously threaten for the remainder of the game. Denmark controlled the pace and saw the match out with confidence.

Goalkeeper Emil Nielsen played a key role with several crucial saves to stop Spain’s momentum, while Denmark’s attack showed depth and variety, with multiple scorers contributing. Emil Jakobsen led the way with eight goals. For Spain, the young and talented Marcos Fis was the standout, scoring nine times.
