The King and Queen attended a Sunday morning church service at Sandringham.

Both were wrapped up warm long, brown coats and Camilla accessorised hers with an eye-catching furry hat and knee-high suede boots.

They were accompanied by Anne, the Princess Royal – who wore a wool, navy coat and a red scarf – and her husband Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence.

The service was delivered by Dame Sarah Mullally, the Archbishop of Canterbury elect, who was pictured escorting the Royals out of the building afterwards.

Dame Sarah, who has been Bishop of London for almost a decade and is a former chief nursing officer, was officially named in October.

She will be legally confirmed in the post at a service in St Paul’s Cathedral on Wednesday, before her installation – or enthronement – at Canterbury Cathedral in March.

The Royal family often attend a Sunday church service when they are visiting their Norfolk home.

They most regularly visit the St Mary Magdalene Church, where they famously worship every Christmas Day.

But St Peter’s is another favourite as it is smaller and can offer more privacy than St Mary Magdalene.

Queen Elizabeth III was pictured there in January 2019.
