Republican and DFL party caucuses will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3.

Hubbard County Republicans and DFL are basic political organizing units (BPOUs), offering local residents a chance to put their hand on the steering wheel of state and national government.

During election years, both parties’ caucuses are an opportunity for citizens to discuss candidates and elect delegates to their party’s county convention and candidate endorsing conventions. Some of these delegates, in turn, will be elected to represent the county at their parties’ congressional district and state conventions.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
