Some crimes, you should never see the light of day again
I remember this case, that poor girl. An utter waste, the life she should have had. Her family were put through a horrific ordeal throughout the trial.
As for the thing that did this, just the lowest form of life. All the ‘Christian’ bloviations in the world won’t change that. A shame he didn’t do the world a favour and rid us of his worthless existence.

I watched a documentary on Japanese prisons and they are very regimented. It’s worth a watch, google search will find it, but while they encourage rehabilitation prisoners live a structured existence with almost every waking moment accounted for.
Worse for foreign prisoners, they are kept separated in cells and can’t interact with other prisoners except during permitted times. If this guy spent 10 years in prison he has lived an absolutely shit life there. It might not seem like much but it’s a third of his life so far behind bars in a system that discourages individual thought and emphasizes conformity. His entire youth was spent in hell for a young man. It should have been longer but it is what it is.
Were they not appraised of what would happen at the time of sentencing?
This crime deserved a much harsher sentence. I understand the reasons that’d not possible in Japan, but it’s still very disappointing. It makes me angry reading that the prick still shows no remorse, and the whole “good Christian” shtick. And fuck those in America supporting him too.
I still remember his bastard friends and family all over Twitter at the time, trying to get the hashtag #IRWB going (in Rich we believe). Prick gets to live out his days consequence free now.
Rapist, murderer. Let’s hope he meets a similar fate.
10 years is way too short and this scumbag will do it again. It also doesn’t help that his behaviour is enabled by his family and religious community.
I’ll say this as well, even if he got 30 years, it would never mitigate the pain her loved ones feel from her loss. There can be no justice when someone dies this way.

Also, it is terrifying that strangulation (or “choking” which is NOT choking) is still a thing during sex (or in this case rape).

The killers words of “your daughter didn’t suffer” while looking the parents directly in the eye is so sinister. Pure evil. 10 years is such an injustice for Nicola and her family. I hope the killer meets a sticky end. Fucker has shown no remorse.
