On January 17, US President Donald Trump threatened eight European countries with 10% tariffs due to their opposition to his proposed takeover of Greenland. He later backed down. 

Belgium was never on the list of targeted nations, but the fiasco shows how companies need to be open to operating in different parts of the world, Karen Rentmeesters, CEO of the Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC), tells Rapaport’s Joshua Freedman.
