I have a message for all U.S. lawmakers: Please do something, I implore you. I’ll be brief, which is difficult with the chaotic, embarrassing madness that is going on in the U.S. for the whole world to see.
President Donald Trump has turned U.S. cities into police states. He has been threatening military action In Minneapolis on grounds of “insurrection.” He has the audacity to state this after his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection, when he did absolutely nothing while police were getting injured and rioters threatened to hang his vice president. He did nothing.
This month he invaded Venezuela and captured its president and his wife. He has threatened to take over Greenland and quell Iran protests. Trump renames the Gulf of Mexico, buildings and cultural centers, fires staff and dismantles government agencies, threatens and erodes the free press and voters’ rights and sues those who oppose his views. He files lawsuits and orders investigations of people who are just doing their jobs, i.e. prosecutor Jack Smith, lawmakers Mark Kelly and Chrissy Houlahan and former national security adviser John Bolton. Even the Supreme Court emboldens the president.
And in all this aggression and chaos, Trump wants a Nobel Peace Prize. Well, it looks like he just got one – secondhand from Venezuela’s Maria Corina Machado. Her capitulation has eroded her integrity. I wonder if her backers for the prize are having second thoughts.Impeach this president. Stop this madness before it is too late. Or is it already?
