Minister Pirro Vengu has revealed details of the trilateral agreement in the field of Defense between Albania, Kosovo and Croatia, saying that the three countries have common needs for increased security.
Vengu responded regarding Serbia’s reaction to this agreement, which official Belgrade described as military aggression, emphasizing that the agreement is not against anyone, and Serbia has even been invited to be part of it.
“I have definitely noticed a sense of panic from the official statement in Belgrade, whether media or political. The Albania-Croatia-Kosovo Agreement is a tripartite agreement that is not built against anyone. I was even the first to express an invitation, why not, that if Serbia considers that the region, stability, sustainability and the Euro-Atlantic future of the countries in the region are important, then why not Serbia join this initiative. I have not received a response to this invitation,” Vengu stated.
The Minister added that Albania, Kosovo, and Croatia have begun to cooperate, based on this agreement, whether in the military, training, or academic-educational fields.
“We have an agreement with Kosovo regarding the production of armored vehicles. This comes for two reasons. The first is because we read the threats and risks in the region in a real way. The second is that I do not believe that Croatia, Albania and Kosovo need to get permission regarding this part, the third is that we welcome other countries to join us. It is an open partnership, but we are not in situations of defense guarantees. We have our collective security architecture, but we have noticed that all three countries have similar needs, in terms of increasing capacities. They are in an agreement to get the best from each other in terms of the military industry. Croatia is a leading country in Europe in terms of small military drones. Similarly, we aim to create a lead in the field of armored vehicles and why not even start exporting,” Vengu continued. /euronews/
