As a German, i tried my first Duvel in Belgium today. And it’s probably the best experience with beer I made so far.

  1. Duvel is one of the better mainstream mass-produced beers out there, but if you love it your beer experience will only become better once you tried other Belgian beers!

  2. Don’t get me wrong, I do like me a Duvel. But it’s also not even close to the best Belgian beer.

I like to define it as a heavy blonde that drinks like a pils(ner).

Edit: changed ‘not even near’ to ‘not even close to’, because it was bothering me.

  3. Depends which kind of Duvel, as they have several other ones that are worth trying like the Duvel 666

  4. I really love duvel, when i lived in new zealand, once in a while i was ready to pay 10$ for a 33cl duvel.

  5. If you like Duvel I can recommend Omer. I used to drink Duvel but Omer quickly replaced it as my favourite.

And La Chouffe is nice too!

  6. I didn’t like beer until I had Belgian beer.

And now I only drink beer that’s 5% or more 😂

    Thanks Belgian beer.

  7. they once showed a japanese camera team into belgium and they gave them a duvel

now apparantly the japanese are used to blond beers being american stuf which has a description of having sex in a canoe and as of such they did those almost adje

jumpcut to 15 minutes later: the japanese are actively wiping the sweat of their forehead because it’s kicking their ass

  8. I Love Duvel. Having one now. It’s delicious all the time but especially after getting high. The richness & spice is delightful.

  9. Ich wohne in Belgien in der deutschsprachigen Gemeinschaft .Das komische ist viele wissen das nicht 😭😂es gibt sogar Belgier die das nicht wissen.

  10. Duvel is a good “commercial” beer, but there a far better beers then Duvel! Try new beers every time your in a bar. You will find some you like even more!

  11. No that you have experienced belgian beer go and try the « bières spéciales ». It’s better in taste than classic pils. Drink a Val Dieu if you have the opportunity to or a Curtius Smash :))
    Enjoy

  12. Welcome! As a Belgian who is after decades still on the quest of trying all our epic beers: Duvel is still my favourite one. Cheers.
