So is this an example of shrinkflation? Because I could swear that for as long as I can remember, our Action store had the regular BIC pens in that same spot, now these smaller were in that same spot, and since I use these pens every day, the difference stood out.

Shrinkflation? Or honest placing of a different product? What do you think?

  1. Were they priced exactly the same? I don’t mean whether the whether the little card with the price was the same, because mistakes are always possible they forget to remove it.

  2. I remember having those mini pens when I was in school like 7-8 years ago. It was in a different country (Ireland) so maybe they are just new to this market?

  3. Shrinkflation is a contradictio in terminis, you’d have to use constant price inflation, as you pay the same for less goods.
