I’m trying to find out who my great grandfather’s family was. I have obtained his Alien file where he lists his birth place and date of birth.
Unfortunately that’s where the trail has gone cold for me. Family search and ancestry have no traces of him before his time coming to the United States.
Does anyone have any recommendations on churches near Essen where his birth might have been recorded? Or just any tips in general?
