The New Build one puzzles me. New Builds are the best prepared homes for heat pumps. And since the government fucked over new homes by consistently knocking back new regulations to make heat pumps, eco-insulation and solar panels required. New houses are going to be massive issues later on.
Badly unless you can also afford to put in underfloor heating.
The article is extremely lightweight.
Its a 5k bung to 90,000 middle earner/home owners which does bugger all for the millions who are actually struggling to keep a roof (that they do not own) over their heads, let alone heat it.
Even assuming you do meet the requirements.. I’d encourage you to get a professional (if you are lucky enough to know one who is reasonable) to go through exactly what work is required for a project like this because you can easily go 2/3 times over that grant
I’ve often thought with things like this, that if they made financial sense, then they’d not need grants and schemes to increase their proliferation, surely?
