AS Maths Exam tested pupils on topics not taught, it’s claimed

  1. Off topic but so glad I’m done with my education and about to start my career. Don’t want to sit in another sports hall or do another 24 hour online exam again.

  2. I swear every year there’s distraught students complaining about their maths exam being impossibly hard and unfair. Without further details I’m going to assume there was nothing wrong with it and it only seemed harder because of the pressure. I would like to see the question

  3. Literally saw a tiktok video (yes I know) where this person was filming 2 teachers in a secondary school utterly confused over a certain question involving circles because even they couldn’t solve the maths problem.

  4. Maths is maths. If some topics have not been taught that were being taught previously, students have fallen behind – and should expect to have that reflected in any competent assessment.

  5. Well they should have covered all angles and just revised non syllabus stuff anyway. It’s their own fault

  6. I’m doing my GCSEs and in Maths Paper 1 which is non-calculator we got a question where we had to work out a shaded area in overlapping circles. We were never taught this in class.
