Kentucky basketball’s five-game winning streak came to a screeching halt in Nashville Tuesday night.Vanderbilt opened the game on a 7-0 run, with Kentucky not scoring its first points until just before the 16-minute mark when Colin Chandler knocked down a pair of free throws.But Kentucky’s scoring was sparse in the first half.Vandy took a commanding 43-23 lead into halftime, shooting 50% from beyond the arc and 47% from the field. Kentucky struggled to find any rhythm on offense, shooting 18% from three and 28% from the field.The second half wasn’t any more fruitful for the Wildcats’ offense, but they were able to slow Vandy’s scoring.UK’s defense wouldn’t make up for the Wildcats’ lack of offense, though, with Vandy going on to win 80-55.Kentucky falls to 14-7 overall and 5-3 against SEC teams.Otega Oweh finished with 20 points and five rebounds. The only other Wildcat to score double-digits was Denzel Aberdeen, who scored 15 points.Next up for Kentucky is No. 15 Arkansas on the road Saturday at 6:30 p.m. That game will air on ESPN.
