Hurtigruten is expanding its guided tours portfolio with three new itineraries aimed at North American travellers, adding longer multi-country journeys and new seasonal options across the Nordics.
The new lineup includes a 19-day Grand Nordic Adventure, a winter-focused Nordic Winter Journey, and a summer-only Norway’s Capital and Coast tour, all built around Hurtigruten’s signature Southbound Coastal Express sailings.
The most extensive addition, the Grand Nordic Adventure, launches in July and, for the first time, combines Norway, Finland and Iceland in a single guided itinerary. The tour begins in Helsinki and includes a rail journey across Finland, a stay at the Santa Claus Hotel, hiking with huskies, and cultural experiences focused on the indigenous Sámi people. Travellers then sail on a six-day Southbound Hurtigruten Coastal Express from Kirkenes to Bergen before flying to Iceland, where highlights include Reykjavik, the Blue Lagoon, major waterfalls and the UNESCO World Heritage Site Þingvellir National Park. Prices start at $7,533 per person, full board.
The Nordic Winter Journey is a 13-day guided tour beginning in Finnish Lapland, designed around Northern Lights viewing and Arctic winter activities. The itinerary includes stays at a remote camp resort, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and sleigh rides, as well as visits to Inari and the SIIDA Museum to explore Sámi heritage. The journey also features a cruise through the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord, a ride on the Flåm Railway and the full Southbound Hurtigruten Coastal Express. Prices start from $5,371 per person.

The third new offering, Norway’s Capital and Coast, is a summer-only itinerary that pairs time in Oslo with a six-day Southbound Coastal Express voyage from Kirkenes to Bergen. The tour includes multiple natural and cultural sites, with several of Norway’s eight World Heritage sites featured along the route. Prices start at $3,517 per person.
“Hurtigruten has been the destination immersion experience for Norway, and now travelers can extend that experience with amazing tour options cruising along the beautiful coastline, booking a tour including Iceland to the very best of Norway and Finland, or decide to experience the highlights of Finnish Lapland, or simply enjoy a few days in one of Europe’s most charming capitals, Oslo,” said Carly Biggart, Head of Hurtigruten Americas. “Whether you want to see the Northern Lights in as many places as possible, as with our best-seller Follow the Lights, or chase the Midnight Sun across the Nordics, Hurtigruten truly has something for everyone.”
The new tours build on Hurtigruten’s existing range of guided, partially guided and self-guided itineraries. Popular options include Follow the Northern Lights, Savor the Lights, and Follow the Midnight Sun, which combine rail travel, Arctic experiences and Coastal Express sailings across Finland, Norway and Sweden.
Also continuing are the Arctic Frontier itineraries, which launched last year and pair the Svalbard Line with land and cruise extensions in Svalbard, as well as self-guided programs such as Best of Norway, Complete Norway – Northern Lights, and Complete Norway – Midnight Sun.
