LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – Meridian Township’s Downtown Development Authority is now accepting applications from local businesses for the Match on Main program.
The grant program, offered through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, provides matching funds of up to $25,000 for business owners looking to expand or relocate within the township’s downtown district.
The DDA will cover the required 10% match for eligible small businesses.
Funds can be used for a variety of project expenses, including design work such as renderings, floor plans, and construction drawings; interior renovations; and outdoor spaces, including dining areas, beer gardens, or other approved uses.
Marketing and technology costs that support customer engagement or operational improvements, such as point-of-sale systems and retail inventory, are also eligible.
“Meridian Township is actively pursuing ways to support our small business owners with a multitude of allowances,” said Neighborhoods & Economic Development Director Amber Clark. “Creating a thriving, bustling downtown starts with quality and healthy businesses. Offering assistance to attract new businesses is just one of the ways we can revitalize our downtown.”
Applications will be accepted by the Meridian DDA through Feb. 13.
