  1. On one hand I fully agree with the lecturers strike. They have been treated increasingly poorly since 2009, and deserve to be treated and paid better.

    On the other hand, punishing third year students after they’ve been through 2 years of pandemic learning, is a huge kick in the teeth and is only directly punishing those who have suffered already. On top of that, a lot of course, especially when it comes to humanities, are frankly piss poor with their student hours.

    Lecturers do deserve to be paid more, but at the same time, they need to also ensure that students are getting a better experience. Fobbing them off by saying “you should be doing 30 hours of reading at home” when they’re only providing 6 hours of lectures a week is piss poor.
