Dear r/Denmark community,

Recently I received an offer from Nybrogård Kollegiet dormitory. And I am number 12 in the list. I have a quick question for you: If I decide to reject the offer **for now**, will I still be able to  stay in the queue for the same dormitory and wait for a closer number on the list? The chance of getting a room while being 12th is relatively small, that’s why I would like to wait a little bit longer in the waiting list to wait for the first place. But I want to be guaranteed that I will remain at the same position on the waiting list. So if I press ”reject offer” ([1 picture](https://drive.google.com/file/d/10kokp174sMxFFG7-t7-hvI791y5Vscrn/view?usp=drivesdk)), will the system throw me off the list or still keep me in the line? 

The offer says ([2nd picture](https://drive.google.com/file/d/10ttPxnocHGQHfph0CfdNWejff19KTxk-/view?usp=drivesdk)) that I have the opportunity to reject it for now without the consequences of losing place in the list. Should I, in this case, fill the form and tick 4th option “Jeg vil gerne stå i bero og henvender mig selv, når jeg ønsker at modtage tilbud igen”, attach it as documentation ([1st picture](https://drive.google.com/file/d/10kokp174sMxFFG7-t7-hvI791y5Vscrn/view?usp=drivesdk)) and only then click reject offer? 

P.S. Now I am a bit worried to click reject offer because of possibility that I lose a place and will have to queue up again. If anyone has come across a similar situation, please tell me what to do in this situation in order to stay in line?

  1. You should read the terms. They should say whether you lose the seniority if you decline.

    For *most* companies I know of, you don’t lose seniority if you decline, but some do. For student accomodation at KAB, you can decline twice in the same department, and then you lose all seniority in that department.

    That said, “Jeg vil gerne stå i bero” means you will no longer get any offers until you add apartments to your list again. If you just want to say no to this apartment and still want to receive offers, you want to select the second option.

    If you decline an offer (or do not reply to an offer) twice, you will lose your seniority for that area.

    Usually when accepting an offer but not getting the apartment, you would keep your place/seniority. However, I don’t have experience with the Copenhagen ‘boligforeninger’ to know whether it is the same for them.
