South Korean automaker Kia Corp. incurred losses of 3.3 trillion won ($2.3 billion) in 2025 due to the introduction of U.S. tariffs on imported goods, the company said in a press release.
Kia reported that losses in the fourth quarter alone amounted to around 1 trillion won.
Revenue for October–December rose 3.5% year on year to 28.09 trillion won, while retail vehicle sales increased 1.6% to 776,000 units.
However, operating profit fell by about one-third to 1.84 trillion won, below analysts’ forecasts of 1.9 trillion won. Net profit in the fourth quarter declined 15.5% to 1.47 trillion won.
Kia shares fell 2.5% following the release of the results. Since the beginning of the year, the company’s market capitalisation has risen by 22.9%.
