I endorse Charlie Eccleshare’s earlier point about Rybakina being the cleanest ball striker on tour.
I also think she has the highest peak on tour, even if that peak often doesn’t last much longer than an hour.
At her best, Rybakina is so hard to break, so hard to shift off her favored spot on the baseline, and so hard to make uncomfortable.
She’s left even Sabalenka helpless at times, even though she’s less consistent and versatile than the world No. 1.
Rybakina is in something like one of those zones now, and Pegula doesn’t have a sufficiently big weapon to force her out of it.
